May 05

These are another set of photo's taken in May. This gives an idea of how the allotment had developed over the years and how the children and their needs have be looked after. Th allotment is always changing. Starwberries though never go out of fashion, thats why i have 3 large beds for them. The greenhouse makes starting of plants and growing tomatoes much easier. What better way to finish the day but a glass of wine in the sunshine.

Time For a Change

This next group of photo's shows some of the changes being made to the allotment at the beginning of spring.

That's me! My hat may look daft but i'm happy

This is 'our house'. It's somewhere dry and warm to sit and have a brew but it's a little too small so i am extending it. The base is being build and that window frame (brand new pvc for £1) will go at the front. For the side i got some old patio doors that will provide lots of light. To the right of the house used to be a lean-to greenhouse but the wind finished it off So a friend of a friend had a greenhouse that needed moving so thats going in to the left.

Here the greenhouse is in place being loaded up with plants etc. The quartz rocks are from our front garden at home. The bare patch of groung was were the veg plots used to be. They have been levelled and seeded with grass which is just starting to grow.

This is a view towards the kids new play house. I was going to put the greenhouse here but kids come first
After looking at various houses i decided to build it myself. Quite good i think

This pretty pathway with primroses leads to the toilet shed!

Another couple of views of the garden facing south, hoping for some sunshine

Another patch being seeded with grass. There used to be rasberries here but grass is easier to look after. Thats the tool shed in the corner

march 05

These are some of the oldest pictures i could find of the garden allotment. The bare patches are were the beds were for fruit and veg but now i am re seeding them with grass to make a larger area for the kids to play. Whilst enjoyable I found the hassle of growing my own not worth the end results. In the corner there is a concrete flag area which i am not too sure what to do. Maybe a shed or a seating area?
